Julia Portela Piñón was awarded the 3rd Prize and the Monteverdi Prize at the First Edition of the Premio Orfeo d'Oro International Music Competition held in Cremona.

As winner of the 3rd Concurso Internacional de Solistas of the Festival Internacional de Música de Aguere, Julia will perform Mahler’s ‘Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen’ accompanied by the Aguere Chamber Orchestra at the Iglesia de San Bartolomé in Tejina, Tenerife.

As winner of the 3rd Concurso Internacional de Solistas of the Festival Internacional de Música de Aguere, Julia will perform Mahler’s ‘Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen’ accompanied by the Aguere Chamber Orchestra at the Iglesia del Santísimo Redentor in Tenerife, recipient of the prestigious World Building of the Year 2025 award at the World Architecture Festival.

Julia will perform as part of the lyrical cycle ‘Les Veus del Monestir’ at the Monestir de Pedralbes, a series of concerts showcasing young operatic voices interpreting a varied repertoire in the historic setting of the monastery.

Julia will embody the role of Marirrosa in the premiere of the Galician zarzuela ‘A man de Santiña’, composed by Marcos Mato Collazo.

Julia stars in Manuel de Falla’s El sombrero de tres picos, a work based on the famous ballet of the same name, performed with the Banda Municipal de Música de Santiago de Compostela under the baton of David Fiuza.

The recital by Julia Portela Piñón, mezzo-soprano, and Olga Kobékina, pianist, offers a journey through the repertoire for voice and piano, an intimate genre that brings together music and poetry. Through works by composers such as Beethoven, Mozart, Rossini, Richard Strauss and Debussy, the programme explores different European traditions, from the elegance of the Italian song and the depth of the German Lied to the subtlety of the French mélodie and the colour of the Spanish song, revealing the great expressive richness that this chamber format can achieve.
